I was recently asked what my favorite book was. With some reflection, I knew I couldn’t pick just one. (If I had to I would cheat and tell you it’s a family photo album!) I think that if I could pick a favorite book at different times in my life I would be able to answer the question much better.

As a pre-schooler, my mom would have told you that my favorite book was, “Are You My Mother?” We read it together at least 1,000 times! This children’s book by P.D. Eastman was about a baby bird. This adorable little bird fell out of his nest and went on a journey to find his mother. The best part of the book was when the seemingly scary “Snort” lifted him up and placed him back into his nest.

I had a strong connection with my mother and I think I loved this story because in the end the baby bird and the mother were always reunited. I wanted to know that I would always be reunited with my mom if we ended up apart. If you read my post, ‘Talking To Dead People’, you’ll find out how we were just recently reunited again.
