How This One Breakfast Hack Made My Kids Raving Fans Of Fruits and Veggies

I will admit, I was a terrible mom. When my kids were little they would sometimes go days without eating any fruits or vegetables. Orange juice and watermelon were the only popular items that would actually get consumed.

Breakfast consisted of the SAD (Standard American Diet) items that they loved. Cold cereal, muffins, toast, instant oatmeal, and maybe some orange juice would get them started for the day.

Please don’t judge me. I tried. I would try to ‘healthify’ the food as much as I could. Usually, my attempts would end in utter failure and I would throw food out.

Around this time I also began training for marathons. My goal was to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I was also trying to juggle 3 small kids, 2 large dogs, and my own business. I didn’t have a lot of time to cook elaborate meals!

That is when I discovered the magic breakfast hack known as the smoothie!
